How It Works;
The WavelengthEMTS® system kills termites within the wood where they
live. This is achieved by the bombardment of radio frequency waves upon
the pest's cell structure and the wood cells housing them. The radio frequency
bombardment of the moisture within the wood and pest thermally heats the
infestation or infection rapidly from the inside outward, similar to the
way a potato thermally heats within a microwave oven. Heat generated becomes
lethal in a very short time. The generator is then moved to treat adjacent
infested areas to achieve a complete kill.
What It was designed for;
The microwave generator unit and operating system was designed for the
localized treatment of termites and fungi living within seasoned hard
or soft wood timbers and framing of furniture & structures. It is
capable of thermal treatment up to 9" in depth, this includes but
is not limited to treatment of accessible infestation and infection concealed
within inaccessible wall areas and voids constructed of masonry, wood,
wood products, acrylic plastic and glass. Treatment will not penetrate
metal or metal byproducts
History of WavelengthEMTS®
In the early 1990s the only means of non-chemical alternative treatment
available to the pest control operator in lieu of fumigation was long
term agreements for the use of an electrocution method, or costly sub-contracting
of other experimental treatment methods not available for lease or purchase,
i.e. heat or freeze methods.
Frustrated with the limited choices available, two termite control firms
with combined years of professional knowledge in fumigation as well as
termite control, jointly set out to develop a safe, effective, practical
and affordable alternative non chemical treatment procedure which could
be offered for sale to professional pest control operators. The WavelengthEMTS®
Proto2 GE575 Microwave Treatment System and the newly developed Proto3
GE1150 Dual port System are the result of the joint efforts undertaken
to satisfy the industry's need.
WavelengthEMTS® Philosophy
Microwave treatment of insects is not a new technology. In fact, it has
been around and in use for years. We do believe it is the way of the future
and will be more in demand as the public becomes more aware of the environmental
and health problems associated with conventional poisonous gas fumigation.
As the pest control industry looks for alternative non-chemical methods
of treatment without compromising effectiveness, reliability or affordable
cost factor, microwave technology clearly appears to be the pest control
operator's preferred choice of tools for the future.
WavelengthEMTS® envisions that by the year 2020, for termite control
firms, owning a microwave treatment system will become as commonplace
and necessary as owning a chemical spray canister. WavelengthEMTS®
plans to remain the pest control operator's number one manufacturer and
system supplier well into the next decade.
WavelengthEMTS® has been manufacturing and marketing its microwave
treatment systems since 1993. There are numerous termite control firms
that currently own and use WavelengthEMTS® Systems successfully.
